Analects of Confucius Sayings of Confucius written down by his students Lessons for the common people

Selections: On Family 1.A young mans duty is to behave well to his parents at home and to his elders abroad. Treat people respectfully, especially your family. Be respectful to authority figures.

Selections: On Family 2.When his father and mother are alive, a good son does not wander far away; or if he does so, goes only where he said he was going. When you are old enough, dont move too far from your parents, family is extremely important. Also, dont lie to your parents.

Selections: On Religion 1.Wealth and rank are what every man desires, but if you can only have them by disregarding your beliefs, you must give them up. 2.Poverty and obscurity are what every man hates, but if they can only be avoided by disregarding your beliefs, you must accept them.
