Planning the Event Location - Central or convenient and easy for vehicles to maneuver through Contractor - Due to shipping costs, find a contractor close to your area Trucking company - The more flexible the better Volunteers/ Government employees - Make it a community effort by bringing in volunteer groups and employees from area governments. Community service workers. Pallets - Talk to local businesses about getting their excess Gaylord boxes - For the smaller items and keyboards

Planning the Event Fork Truck - Or other pallet lifter Shrink Wrap - May find an area business willing to donate Work Gloves - Some items may be broken Trash/ Storage Container - Handy for overnight storage Advertising/ Signage - In advance as well as banners that day, check with town planning for placement Contact local police - they can patrol the area overnight and ensure to stay legal

Site Layout A site layout is helpful to ensure traffic flow and work flow. The layout will vary based on the size of your work area.

Pallet and Wrap Materials Sort material by type - Monitors, CPUs, printers/ fax machines/ copiers, audio/ visual Stack to a safe height Wrap well, tight, and sufficiently Use pallets as much as possible Use Gaylord boxes for small or difficult to pallet items - hard drives, keyboards, loose cables Handle Hard drives carefully to avoid breakage
