7 State Assessment Analysis How do your students perform on the state and local assessments?

8 Broad Achievement Patterns ALL STUDENTS Observing All Students Over Time 1.Find your broad subject area results on the IIRC Website. 2.Find the % of ALL students at meets & exceeds at each grade and subject tested. 3.Make a team DATA TABLE. 4.Find and enter these data for previous years. 5.Label the table.

9 Team Observations & Discussion Observations List the broad patterns you see. List facts, not opinions. Hypotheses List opinions about possible reasons for the patterns. List any theories team members suggest. Record your observations. What do you see?

10 Hypotheses Achievement Data Hypothesis = an assumption made about the data pattern. Hypotheses Guiding Questions: 1. Why are our students performing way they are? 2. What in our systems and practices is causing our student to have these problems?

11 Observations (Looking for patterns) For each column heading on the table: write a statement about the number pattern write a statement comparing 03 to 04 For the bar graph: write a statement about patterns you see.
