The Skeletal System

My Objectives That every student will be able to label the main bones of the skeletal system. Students will be able to know how many vertebra are in each section of the spinal cord. Students will then be able to address a injury to the area they are able to label.

Activities That We will Cover Students will go to the student section of Encarta & look up skeletal bones. Students will pull up their One Note & copy the bones name with the medical name. Students will also find & copy a skeletal bone system & write in using their pen of the tablets the names of the bones. Students will then be assigned a practice quiz over the skeletal system over WebCT which they can take as many times as they wish. Assessment will then be the next step.

Assessments Students will be given a blank skeleton to label using their tablets to write in the answer. They will pull the test off WebCT & send it back to me. If needed the test can be repeated until 90% of the class is proficient.

Currently do things. My classroom is paper & pencil. I do give them a printed chart of the skeletal system & they fill it in. I allow them to study in class & go through it with them.

Put these words where they belong Cranium, Mandible, Clavicle, Sternum, xiphoid process, rib cage, Humerus, Radius, Ulna, Carpals, metacarpals, Phalanges, Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar, sacrum, coccyx, pelvis, femur, patella, tibia, fibula, tarsals, metatarsals, phalanges, calcaneous, scapula
