Patient Bill of Rights The patients have the right to say what they want done to them and when, and the doctors have to abide by these rules. Patients have the right to know the identity of physicians, nurses, and others involved in their care. The patient has the right to considerate and respectful care.

Patients Bill of Rights The patient has the right to have an advance directive (such as a living will) The patient has the right to review the records pertaining to his/her medical care The patient has the right to be informed of hospital policies and practices that pertain to patient care, and treatments

Advanced Directives Advance directives center around the principles of your right to die with dignity. Advance directives are a way of making your voice heard when you can no longer speak. All 50 states and even Columbia have laws regarding the Advanced Directives.

Advanced Directives Advanced directive is a written document talking about all your rights and what you want to do with your body. It even states who you want to speak for you when u can no longer. There are two types of advanced directives one being the living will, and a medical power of attorney. Living Will- written statement saying what you want done with yourself

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability The HIPAA was issued in 1996 HIPAA protects your rights to health insurance coverage when you change jobs, lose a job, get divorced, become pregnant, or move. When you are Under HIPAA you cannot be denied group health insurance because of any health factors.
