About a million years ago, living beings that were earlier forms of human beings had lived in China. Long after, about 65,000 years before, reached China from Africa. For food, they hunted wild animals. They also began to pick and gather fruits, eventually resulting in the Chinese learning to farm.

Ancient China Qin Dynasty (221–206 BC) Han Dynasty (202 BC–AD 220) Yuan Dynasty (AD 1271–1368) Ming Dynasty (AD 1368–1644) Qing Dynasty (AD 1644–1911)

The Terracotta Army or the "Terracotta Warriors and Horses", is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BC and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife.

The Terracotta Army was discovered on 29 March 1974 to the east of Xi'an in Shaanxi province by a group of farmers when they were digging a water well. For centuries, there had been occasional reports of pieces of terracotta figures and fragments of the Qin necropolis – roofing tiles, bricks, and chunks of masonry – having been dug up in the area.

Weapons such as swords, spears, battle-axe, scimitars, shields, crossbows and arrowheads were found at the pits of the terracotta warriors. Some of these weapons such as the swords are still very sharp. Besides human figures found statues of horses and combat chariots.

The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China to protect the Chinese Empire or its prototypical states. Several walls were being built as early as the 7th century BC.

How ever it needs protection against nomadic peoples. Qin Shi Huang orders the construction of the Great Wall of China. Used the construction of the pre-existing walls, which are strengthened, superposed, connect new sites and extended.
