Welcome to Chemistry I Honors

Expectations 1. Listen and take notes of any new information presented. 2. Read the textbook to reinforce the information presented. 3. Complete assignments so that practice of desired skills can be accomplished. 4. Participate and complete all laboratory experiences.

What to Bring Daily 1.Spiral or composition book for all laboratory experiences and notes. 2.Scientific or graphing calculator. 3.Motivation to ask why. 4.Open mind.

Laboratory Rules To avoid Read and listen to all written and verbal instructions. Follow above instructions. If you do not understand an instruction ask. Use all equipment only as instructed. Do not mix chemicals indiscriminately. Respect the safety of everyone in the lab. Follow all laboratory safety guidelines.

Grades and Assessments All units begin with a pre-assessment. Activities and homework are designed to accomplish objectives of the unit. All homework is accompanied by a quiz to assess progress. The unit assessment is given. If the student is not satisfied with progress in any objective, he or she may do the correctives for that objective and then retest.
