India (fun) facts 1/2 India has a population of 1.2 billion people, there are always people everywhere The national currency is the rupee (100 rupees = 2 euros) Cows are sacred animals, doing anything harmful to them may lead to having to go to prison. Do not drink tap water, because this will make you ill. This also means: ◦ Do not eat any raw vegetables or fruit that still have their skin. ◦ When ordering a bottle of water make sure it has not been opened, otherwise just send it back.

India (fun) facts 2/2 Make sure you don’t get scratched or licked by a dog or any other animal, you could get rabies. We need a visa for India, students need to apply for this themselves. Costs are 65 euro’s and a tourist visa will hold for 180 days. Since the cow is a holy animal, the Indian people do not eat beef and it will not be available, McDonalds actually serves chicken burgers. ◦ The only place to get beef in India is Goa, that area was once occupied by Portugal and needless to say they left their mark. Bollywood  Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai. Bollywood India has a lot of fake stuff, it is illegal to bring that into the Netherlands, doing so will be at your own risk

Any questions?
