Presentation transcript:

Take your FAQs and tape them to your desk. We will now do a Gallery Walk of your FAQs, so you will have the opportunity to read what others have discovered about entering the work world or college. During the Gallery Walk, use the worksheet to write down any helpful information you find on someone else’s FAQ. Also, write down the name of the writer so you can meet with him or her later to see if he or she has more information you might find useful. You must write down at least 10 facts from other people’s FAQs and talk to at least 4 people.

 A debate is designed to allow you to strengthen your skills in the areas of leadership, interpersonal influence, teambuilding, group problem solving, and oral presentation.  Debate topics and position statements are outlined below. Groups may sign up on a first come, first served basis, by specifying both the debate topic and the position desired (i.e., Pro or Con).  All group members are expected to participate in the research, development, and presentation of your debate position. Each participating member will receive the same group grade.

Pro & con of each of these topics:  Going to a 4 year school  Going to a community college/vocational school  Alternate to going to college  Once you have signed up for a position and side, begin researching and compiling ideas and points. Designate a spokesperson and think of the opposition’s points in order to refute them.

 On Wednesday bring your outline for your personal statement all filled out. We will be writing and revising it in class that day.  Reminder that your typed resume, typed cover letter, and final typed draft of your personal essay are due Thursday/Friday.  Please note that you may not use my printer to print out your work. Also note that failure to turn in your work at the beginning of the period will mean it is late. Late work automatically receives %50 of the earned grade.
