Presentation transcript:

ACTIVITIES WITH STORY "THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANT” WE READ THE STORY OF "THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANT" IN EACH OF THE FOLLOWING CLASSES: “EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGES” (3- 5 YEARS OLD) AND PRIMARY EDUCATION CLASSES (6-11 YEARS OLD). THEN WE DISCUSSED THE VALUES OF THE STORY AND MOVED THEM TO EVERYDAY LIFE SITUATIONS.

WE INTRODUCED THE TALE´S CHARACTERS

EACH CHILD TOOK HOME A SILHOUETTE OF ONE OF THE PROTAGONISTS OF THE STORY AND MADE THEIR CHARACTERS WITH THEIR FAMILIES. ALL WORK DONE BY FAMILIES AND CHILDREN WERE EXPOSED AT THE CORRIDORS OF THE SCHOOL.

THEY DREW THE PROTAGONISTS OF THE STORY

CHILDREN DRAMATIZED THE STORY BY USING THE RESOURCES DEVELOPED AND THOSE WHICH WERE AT THE CLASSROOM.

CHILDREN TOLD THE STORY TO OTHERS.

THEY SAW DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE SAME STORY. IN SPAIN THE STORY IS CALLED “THE ANT AND THE CICADA”.

FROM THE GREEK TALE, CHILDREN FELT INTEREST IN STUDYING ANTS AND THEREFORE THE 4-YEARS OLD CLASS STARTED THE PROJECT “THE ANTS” Children exposed what they know and what they want to know about ants and we started to investigate. Parents contributed to the study by bringing some material such as ant´s nest, information, stories, books... We got a colony of ants that was observed every single day. We picked up the data needed to learn everything about ants and wrote these data in tabs.
