UK Core Project – GEO 162 Required to meet Global Dynamics-Citizenship General Education standards: IV. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the complexities of citizenship and the process for making informed choices as engaged citizens in a diverse, multilingual world For this project you will develop a slide presentation like those shown in lecture. In consultation with your instructor, you and your partner will select and research an issue. Then, describe and discuss your issue based on the directions provided to you in this document. 1

Guidelines Due by 5:00 pm the Friday or exam week. You must work in a group of two and with a person who is in your same Friday discussion section. Upload your final submission into Blackboard. Each student must submit a file. A total of 15 slides will comprise each group’s submission. Please use the Powerpoint submission template available from the class home page. Use reasonably high resolution images and place extra text into the notes panel Use credible web sites for your info:.org URLs, governmental web pages, prominent media outlets. 2

Formatting You will be graded on formatting as well as the UK Core rubric No backgrounds, use Calibri text, no colored font, no colored backgrounds, no animations – do not deviate from this style Do not insert or embed videos, link to themlink to them Crop your images or resize their dimensions proportionally to make them fit. Do not distort your image by stretching one dimension only. Use high quality images Organize/edit your text, don’t blindly cut and paste No submissions accepted as attachments or hardcopies – they must be uploaded thru Blackboard.
