Social development.  Adolescence is the period of development of transition between childhood and adulthood. It involves changes in personality, also physical and intellectual changes. During this time of change, teens are faced with many issues and decisions. Self-esteem is how you feel about yourself. The development of a positive self-image and a healthy self-esteem is very important for making a successful transition from child to adult. Here are some suggestions for helping to encourage positive self-esteem in your teen:  Give your child words of encouragement each day.  Remember to point out the things your teen does right, not just the mistakes.  Be generous with praise. As teen’s grow, they begin to spend more time with friends and less time with parents. As a result, friends can influence a teen's thinking and behavior. This is the essence of peer pressure. Peer pressure can be a positive influence or a negative influence like: smoking, drinking, using drugs, or to practice unsafe sex or other risky behaviors. Here are some tips to help minimize the negative influences of peer pressure and to maximize the positive:  Have a close relationship with your child, and encourage open and honest communication.  Help your teen understand what peer pressure is. Then he/she will be able to resist negative influences.  Go over the values that are important to you and your family. Teach your teen how to stand up for their self, and to praise behavior.  Give your teen breathing room. Don't expect him or her to do exactly as you say all of the time.  Try to avoid telling your teen what to do; instead, listen closely and you may discover more about the issues influencing your child's behavior.  Provide discipline. Your teen needs to understand that there are consequences to negative behaviors.

INTELLECTUAL STAGE OF A TEENAGER  Teens have a type of thinking called Abstract thinking it becomes more common with older teenagers between the ages  Teens also expand their logic and reasoning abilities, although many still struggle to match their thinking abilities with their actions.  Parents can meet the needs of a teen by listening to everything they have to say whether they agree with their child or not.  It’s a good thing for teens to have somebody that will listen to them because studies show that more teens kill their selves everyday because they are stressing and feel nobody cares for them.  Teens also learn from experiencing new things on their own just like Mrs.Haydon said teens are a lot like toddlers !

Teen Physical Development  Puberty usually occurs at the teenage areas. Boys starts puberty at 10-18, average is 12, and ends at 18. Girls starts puberty 8-16, average is 10, ends at 16.  Teen should eat healthy like fruit and veggies. They should get a lot of protein. Always eat breakfast. Avoid soda with high-calories and drink a abundant of water.  Teens should always stay active. Stay active by being in sports. Get some daily exercises.

Moral Development.  Moral development involves learning to know the difference between right and wrong, which is necessary to learn in order to make appropriate decisions in life.  Morality defines how teens themselves should treat one another, from respecting each other to respecting everyone around them.  For example Heinz Dilemma found on Wikipedia is used to explain moral development because it’s what helps people understand the cause and effect of right and wrong decisions and how the choices that we make sometimes defines our future.  The way that parents can help they’re teens identify the way they’re children grow up to be teens with proper moral standards is by teaching them how to be responsible for their actions, as well as teaching them how to make the right choices.
