Life & Living Things: Ecology

Objective : Identifying the 4 basic needs of living things (animals). (Strand VIII-A2) Related Vocabulary: specific denspout (5th need - warmth) humid vegetationbasic needs Activity: Mystery Animal Game 1. The students will listen to the clues about each living thing. 2. The students will predict what kind of living thing would fit the clues. 3. The students will associate the living thing with its environment. 4. The students will use the clues to identify the 4 basic needs that all living things require. 5. The students will identify a 5th need identified in the game. Process: 1. The teacher will click through each of the slides, reading the instructions to the students. 2. Each slide is self-explanatory, but the teacher should run through the lesson prior to presenting them to the students. Related Activity: Each lesson is followed by a journal activity of some kind.
