RESPONSE (SUMMARY)

SUMMARY Marlee is a white girl. She is 13 years old in 7 th grade. Marlee is excellent at math, however she doesn’t talk much. She knows how to, but she wouldn’t want to say the wrong thing. Her best friend is her sister Judy. She hangs out with a stuck up snob girl Sally, because then she never has to think for herself. Then one day a new girl, Liz, enrolls at her school. Liz helps her talk and Marlee feels like she finally has a friend that she can relate to. One day, everything went wrong. Liz wasn’t at school, because she was actually black. Everyone hated her, both black and white. But Marlee would not stop seeing Liz. They found a secret place where they would meet every Tuesday afternoon.
