All About Magnets Magnets come in many shapes and sizes. A magnet can be made by rubbing a piece of iron or steel many times with a magnet.

Types of Magnets Permanent o Keep their magnetism. Temporary o Objects that can be magnetized by a magnetic source, but lose their power after the source is removed. Electromagnets o Are made by sending electricity through a wire coil wrapped around an iron rod.
