G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Explain in your own words what happens on the classroom Wiki-workspace. What happens everyday in the workplace is that Mr. Lewis uploads Our work, next in line, on Friday we go and download and complete our goals. After we complete our goals we go to the disscussion protal and do a quiz and talk about said topic, after that we go to the math aplication lab and solve 9 math problems, after we go to the 321 blast off were we take a quiz about what we did today,(etc), and post 3 questions, answer one and the tools we used, after we go to the games portal to math games, usually, before 321 and the portal we read something and use Google images to help us picture what the things looked like or look like.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio I use Language Based Objectives in GATE. LBOs are important because It is what in work were you write, read, and talk.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Red Light Thinking? Red light thinking is were you stop and get facts. Provide an example of Red Light thinking. Earlier today somebody stole my doughnut and I had to stop and gather evidence. My cat had frosting on his whiskers and mouth and a sprinkle on his nose. But he had a small scratch on him.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Yellow Light Thinking? Draw a conclusion from the facts Provide an example of Yellow Light Thinking. Then I found out that my cat ate the doughnut.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Green Light Thinking? Who what when were and why? Provide an example of Green Light thinking. My cat ate part of my doughnut and hit his chin on the way down and dropped it into a basket and he did it because he was hungry. He tried to get my doughnut in the kitchen.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Why is our GATE Student Checklist important? Our gate checklist tells us what to do & when to do it, some students don’t look at the list and just ask the teacher. The gate checklist contains things to do so we don’t have to wait for other people.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Critical Thinking Shapes Explain what this product is and how you created it. These shapes are made from graphs, we look at a photo of a shape and double the size on the graph. This product is a result of a successful doubling of size.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Entry 5 4/9/2012 An academic accomplishment I made this week was catch up on my papers, and start my timeline. My timeline is about the Ford Automobile Company so I drew a long retro car for it and was going to put facts on the top from 1895 to I printed out a Wikipedia page to help me. Luckily I found a timeline in it, so I took some facts from that timeline and decided to put it on mine. Some of the facts were about other automobile companies so I was surprised about how many there were. There was one about Mercedes.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Solar Systems Name the eight planets in orders. Post a graphic of your favorite planets. 1.Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Solar Systems Post ten facts you learned about the Solar Systems. 1.Earth is the third planet in order. 2.Pluto as voted not to be a planet by astronomers. 3. earth is possibly the only planet with life. 4.The sun is a star, not a planet. 5.Neptune is the last planet in order, since the voting in Pluto was named planet X until someone called the planet pluto. 7.Jupiter has over 63 moons. 8.Mercury is the smallest planet 9.Neptune is the roman sea god. 10.Uranus spins sideways.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets Some of the things we use with excel, is organization of data, weather systems, bar graphs, and several others. Excel helps us with math, and sometimes we use it to document data. Excel can’t use some things but still gives us advantages, like graphs and math.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Today in Atlanta its high temperature is going to be 62 and its lowest is 48 so bundle up! Its going to be quite cold down there! We insist not to drive to places, it is not authorized but it is advised to stay indoors! We have a good chance of storm between tomorrow and next Monday. It has a extreme chance of snow! In Tucson AZ Its going to be sunny today, and it has a 0% chance of rain. Its going to start getting cloudy down here, and it might rain on Feb 8th It also might rain on Feb 7, 9, and 12th. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Hurricane Facts The first time anyone flew into a hurricane was in 1943 in the middle of WWII. Every second a hurricane releases the power of 10 atomic bombs. A typical hurricane can dump 6 inches of rain across a continent. The first hurricane of a year is given an name starting with A!

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Tornado Facts Texas gets hit with the most tornados (aver. Of 124 a year) Oklahoma city has been hit with the most tornados The big red spot on Jupiter was thought to be a tornado, until found out to be a hurricane.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Introducing my GATE Teacher Mr. Lewis is my G.A.T.E. teacher. He has helped me with a lot of my work, and has directed the students to use the checklist to get through the day without having to ask him what to do. He is really nice to us, and he has had us do many fun projects for GATE. Mr. Lewis makes GATE fun!

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Why is GATE important to you? Gate is important to me because it usually helps me get through Friday. It is also important because it teaches you organization of data, the solar system, how to use Microsoft office, and several others, it’s like a second family to me!
