Mustang Website Evaluation Before you use a website for research you need to ask yourself some questions and then decide if you are going to….

KEEP IT? Or KICK IT?

Keep It Or Kick It? K = Know the Authority  Is the author or organization behind the website a reliable authority?  Are credentials given?  Is contact information provided?

Keep It Or Kick It? I = Information  Is the website information useful for my needs?  Does it provide accurate answers to my questions?  Can I verify the information with another source?

Keep It Or Kick It? O = Organization  How is the website organized?  Is it clear and easy to navigate?  Is the text too simple or too difficult for my needs?  Are graphics and illustrations clear?

Keep It Or Kick It? K = Kept Up  When was the website created?  Is the information current or outdated?  Do the links work?

Keep It Or Kick It? I = Intent  Is the website trying to teach you something? Sell you something?  Is it trying to persuade you to a certain point of view? Is it propaganda?  Look at the domain name.
