Self Evaluation Rigor and Highly Effective Teaching and Learning

Classroom Management Thinking of the self evaluation, when discussing classroom management what would you need to change within your classroom to create a classroom environment aligned with Highly Effectively Teaching and Learning Guidelines? How does your self evaluation classroom management effect the overall teaching and learning?

Do your students know the expectations Key points for the students to know: Conversation - What voice level is appropriate for what activity? Help - how do I get assistance that I need? Activity- What is the expected end product of this activity? Movement - Can students get out of their seats during the activity? If so do they need permission? What are my boundaries? Participation - What behaviors show that students are participating fully and responsibly? What behaviors show that a student is not participating?

Job behavior expectations What are the top 5 behaviors that are expected for all employees within your field? How are you supporting the students to make sure they are achieving the needed behaviors? What changes do you need to make in order to ensure they fully understand what is expected of them in the “real world”?

Impact on instruction What do we need to do differently in planning classroom instruction? How can will you alter your classroom activities to mimic real life/ rigorous highly effective teaching and learning?
