Currency What is your topic? Does it involve a certain time period? Does your topic require the latest research to be valid?
Relevance Do each of your sources add something to your overall research? Does the information in your sources overlap or do they each add something new?
Authority What are the author’s credentials? Where did he/she go to school? What kind of degrees does he/she have? Who does he/she work for? Does the website have an.edu,.gov, or a.net at the end of the url?
Accuracy Are there spelling or grammar errors? Does the information “fit” with other sources that you have read?
Purpose Is this person / site trying to sell you something? Does the information seem slanted to present only one side of the argument? Is the piece heavily opinionated?
