Qanat System The “Qanat System” originated in Iran. It was system of water management. It contained deep wells, tunnels, and dams. This system helped regulate the water and improve irrigation techniques. It provided a reliable supply of water in cases of drought and little to no precipitation. Crabtree, Pam J. Disease In Rome and China Rome caused the spread of disease such as diarrhea, pneumonia, jaundice, and parasites such as tapeworms. All of these diseases affected slaves and free laborers. All Diseases were spread through trade. In the second century B.C.E, Rome and China had trade link across Eurasia. As a result, the diseases spread to the east and west of Eurasia.

Spread of Christianity (600 B.C.E-600 C.E) Christianity originated in the Roman Empire though it was prohibited at first. Christianity then spread to Ethiopia, Armenia, Egypt, Kiev, the Franks. The way how the religion spread was when rulers would convert the conquered citizens. It also spread along the silk road at monasteries. In Egypt beyond the religion, many paintings, sculptures, buildings, and churches became Christian based. In Armenia they created an alphabet which gave a more clear understanding to Christianity being related to what was written about Christianity, so it was translated to get more understanding to what Christianity was. Spread of Hinduism (600 B.C.E-600 C.E) Hinduism is one of the oldest known religions, and was compiled by seers and priests. Hinduism was first introduced in India by the Indo-Aryans. Hinduism attracted many people because it assimilated rather than exclude other religious beliefs.Hinduism does not actively seek to convert others, but there is room for anyone who wishes to become a Hindu. The beliefs in hinduism haven’t changed but the interpretations have changed. People are able to add their own twists to things.

Spread of Buddhism (600 B.C.E-600 C.E) Buddhism originated in the mid-northern part of India sometime during the fourth century BCE, and spread to Sri Lanka in the third century BCE by missionary activities. Buddhism also spread through naval trade routes and along the Silk Road to places such as China, India,Tibet, the Middle East, and Turkey. It is one of the world’s universalizing religions so people quickly assimilated to it, and it spread into 3 dominant strains of Buddhism. Shortly, after the death of Buddha disagreements in the doctrines of Buddhism developed. Many followers began to look to the Buddha as a savior and believed that he should be worshipped. Many others felt that they should not worship the Buddha and look to him as only a teacher. One of them is Mahayana, It is based on individual practice and experience rather than on theology or dogma. Mahayana were the ones who felt it was important to worship Buddha and those who did not were Theravada Buddhists. The different forms that have emerged differ less in what they believe the Buddha's teachings to be than in how they believe Buddhism should be practiced in daily life.
