Communism

A territory ruled or administered by a distant nation, usually for the benefit of the ruling nation.

Colony

People native to a certain area.

Indigenous

The absence of a functioning government.

Anarchy

A government in which representatives, elected by the citizens of the country rule the country.

Democratic Republic

A government in which one individual, usually a military leader rules the country.

Dictatorship

A government in which small groups of individuals, often military leaders, rule the country.

Oligarchy

A government in which royalty such as a king or a queen, rule the country.

Monarchy

An economy in which there is no money and people barter for goods and services.

Traditional Economy

An economy in which the government determines what people may own, buy, sell, and trade. The government may even own all of the property itself.

Command Economy

An economy that mixes the elements of market economy and command economy.

Mixed Economy

A type of economy in which the government determines what goods and services can be produced, sold, bought, and traded within the country.

Command Economy

An economy in which people have the choice to buy, sell, and trade what they wish.

Market Economy

An economic system in which people do not use money, they barter for goods and services.

Traditional Economy

The set of laws that the United States follows.

A type of government in which a small number of individuals, usually military or business leaders, rule a country.
