Training Title and objectives Title: Local Language Content Development Objectives: Develop skill among participants to use local language for content development using ICTs

Training Need In our remote areas people have many innovative ideas and innovation as well. Rest of the world is not getting benefit from their innovations. People want to share information with the world but they do not have a proper tool for that.

What the trainners will learn? After completing the training the trainees will be able to Write news, articles and other information in Bangla Trainees will be able to use wiki Trainees will be able to use CMS for content development Trainees will be able to open and write blog

Role of D.Net Since 2003 D.Net is conducting research to utilize ICTs for poverty elevation. D.Net found out that localized content is a major area where intervention is require. Without content many technology may not have any meaning to the rural people. D.Net is also sensitizing Government of Bangladesh to consider it. D.Net is also developing content, deploying it in remote areas and providing training to the infomediaries and content developers.

Stakeholders and colloboration D.Net is collaborating with many national level organizations 49 institute for content development 41 institute for helpline 36 institute for implementation of telecenters 86 schools for computer literacy training program D.Nets stakeholders for training program are students, different professional groups, content developers, infomediaries, mobile ladies.

Sustainability/impact D.Net has several model for continuation of the impact of training after project period. D.Net train infomediaries who works as a intermediary among ICTs and rural people in telecenters. D.Net also developed a telecentre family in Bangladesh which took a final shape recently as Bangladesh Telecentre Network (BTN). BTN promotes telecentre concept successfully so the trainees has a plce to apply their knowledge. D.Net is providing training content developers who eventually can become content developers for telecenters. D.Net is providing TOT to trainees who are going to their community and providing training on a commercial basis.
