One way to do that is to use the following STAR outline: Situation- Where were you working? What was the assignment? Task- What was your responsibility? What was your job or role? Action- What did you do? Result- What was the outcome? Think of your top 3 strengths (i.e., skills, knowledge areas, personal attributes) and create 3 STAR stories that together demonstrate / prove that you have these strengths.

Brandeis University Example STAR Story S: Digital Media Internship at Universal McCann T: To assist Media Planner with creating a digital marketing campaign for Kohl's account A: - Researched demographic that shops at Kohl's - Helped Organize Meeting with Kohl's Reps to find out their needs and wants - Assisted with creating new FB and Twitter pages for Kohl's - Helped Digital Media Planner plan holiday promotional event in Times Square to promote Kohl's holiday sales R: Kohl's Representatives were extremely happy with the new marketing campaign and their business increased by 35% during busy holiday season.
