WORSHIP 2 LHoly God, holy and mighty, holy and immortal, Chave mercy and hear us. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen
Worship C. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

Experience 6 Write a love letter to Jesus! Remember not only what He has done for you, but for the whole world. Remember not only what He gave you that you wanted, but what He didn’t give you because of His wisdom. Most of all, say, “I love you, Jesus!” Do you mean it?
Discussion & reflection: 7 JUNE 29, 2009 London “Telegraph” ANGLICAN BISHOP SEES FAITH DISAPPEARING WITHIN A GENERATION An Anglican bishop has proclaimed that "Christian Britain is dead," and expressed the fear that the Church of England will vanish in the face of declining church attendance, rising secularism, and a general loss of respect for Christian principles. "At this rate it is hard to see the church surviving for more than 30 years though few of its leaders are prepared to face that possibility, " said Bishop Paul Richardson. What would you say if this church closed? If all Lutheran churches closed? If all Christian churches closed?
Discussion & reflection: 8 1 Peter 1: 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Discussion & reflection: 9 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Oecumenius (6 th Century) “What exactly are the blessings which God has given us in Christ? First, there is hope, not the kind of hope which he gave to Moses, that the people would inherit a promised land in Canaan, for that hope was temporal and corruptible. Rather God gives us a living hope, which has come from the resurrection of Christ. Because of that, he has given all those who believe in Jesus the same resurrection.” What is your greatest hope?
Discussion & reflection: 10 Without Jesus all we have is here and now, nothing of which will long remain in this world. But with Jesus, even though we are sinners who deserve nothing at all, we, the baptized, are offered an imperishable prize, a holy and eternal life, a life with more love than we will ever know now. Do you hope that Jesus would be a part of your life? Or the first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing you think of at night? Which is true of you right now?
Discussion & reflection: 11 Hebrews 1: Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. Chrysostom ( ) “’I am the light of the world.’ Therefore the apostle uses the word radiance (NRSV = reflection, Greek = radiance) showing that this was said in the sense of ‘Light of Light.’ Nor is it this alone which he shows, but also that he has enlightened our souls. Who teaches you what you need most?
Discussion & reflection: 12 When we see Jesus we see God. That simple equation is profound. In fact, our minds are too limited to see the true radiance of the Jesus, much less the Father. How would our lives change if we could really see or sense the true radiance of Jesus? What would that feel like, look like, sound like?
Discussion & reflection: 13 John 10: 7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. Make a list of every word you can think of to describe Jesus. Different class members could each read their list. Make a master list and read it over a couple of times. Feel free to add your own words.
