Four Lakes Annual Meeting March 1, 1012

Goals of the Em. Prep. Committee: Develop an overall emergency plan for the Four Lakes community Share the plan with the community Have the community members prepare for a future emergency Set up a plan so that our community can be self- sufficient and only utilize the 911 system if absolutely necessary Have an annual preparedness drill every October Help members of our community during time of emergency (weather related, natural disaster, etc.)

Emergency Preparedness Committee Members: Keith and Chris Renfrew Rick Ward Tom Norton Debbie Berto Kristy Achzenick Evan Lurton Mark Anderson - Chairman

Zone Captains: Yellow Zone – Keith & Chris Renfrew Red Zone – Kristina Achzenick Green Zone – Evan Lurton Orange Zone – Mark Anderson Blue Zone – Tom Norton

Where are we at now? We now have 5 zones identified by color. We are verifying that all households in our community have seen this information and understand the purpose of the Emergency Preparedness Committee and what to do in the event of an actual event.

Where are we at now? (cont.) We had a radio meeting in the summer of 2009 We had a drill in October 2009, 2010, and houses represented of the total 79 houses in our community (42% involvement) we had 16 out of 79 (20% involvement) we had 18 out of 79 (23% involvement) Things that we learned from the drill: – What building hazards can we identify? – Up to date fire extinguishers – Water distribution in a dire emergency (extra water in your house) – Knowing the location of the utility shut offs at your residence (electric, water, propane, etc.) – How do we handle downed power lines? – How to handle snow emergencies.

What additional resources do we have to mitigate an emergency within our community?

Where do we go from here? We will be contacting the community with the drill info for October. We will continue to have annual drills. We will offer relevant training to assist in our communities emergency preparedness. We need to have a way to get in touch with people when the power is out. PLEASE MAKE SURE WE HAVE YOUR CELL NUMBER!!

What can we do for YOU?? Do you have a radio? Do you have a fire extinguisher or need one serviced? Let us know if you need assistance during a weather related situation or emergency!! THANK YOU!!
