 EditGrid is an online spreadsheet service that allows users to share, collaborate, and publish high quality spreadsheets from remote areas.  EditGrid is a free service for both individual users and businesses  EditGrid allows multiple users to access the same spreadsheet at the same time from anywhere in the world

 EditGrid was created in April, 2006 and gained 10,000 users within its first 6 months.  Editgrid now has over 100,000 businesses subscribed to its’ service.

EditGridExcel EditGrid allows users online accessCan only be accessed from computers with Microsoft Office To access, all you need is internet access To change you need most updated version saved on a flash drive Makes use of “real-time updates” updating your spreadsheet the second it is changed Changes to spreadsheet must be saved and ed to all the users Uses remote data, taking information from the internet. Information from the internet must be manually inputted by the user Automatically saves data if computer is left idle for a minute Information saved only when user saves it Ability to lock users out of certain cellsAll users have access to all cells, even ones they shouldn’t be modifying

 The parent company of EditGrid, Team and Concepts Limited was named winner of the Red Herring 100 in 2007 as the most promising private technology company in 16 different nations  In January 2008 EditGrid was awarded the gold medal in the Hong Kong ICT awards 2007: Best Business Award by the Hong Kong Computer Society.  And many others

 Basically, anytime one would use Excel, whether it be for gradebooks or projects, it can be replaced with EditGrid.  See lesson plan book for examples

 Allows students to work on projects together both in school and in their own homes.  Teachers have access to students’ most updated project to give updated feedback  Teachers can have their gradebook on Editgrid allowing them access without having to carry around a laptop and always editing the most up-to-date version

 Allows access all over the world.  Makes use of a chat feature so collaborators can discuss changes that need to be made  Uses real-time updates for items such as currency exchange rates and stock costs.
