Grantee participation in evaluation of NOFAs  Pre-award webinar for applicants  Foundation’s logic model & long-term outcomes  Pre-award individual technical assistance for applicants  Assistance with Case Statement, outcomes, logic model, and/or evaluation plan as requested  Post-award orientation webinar  Evaluation expectations  Template provided – Evaluation Plan Worksheet  Coaching Call  Indicators developed for outcomes as defined in proposal  Pre-award webinar for applicants  Foundation’s logic model & long-term outcomes  Pre-award individual technical assistance for applicants  Assistance with Case Statement, outcomes, logic model, and/or evaluation plan as requested  Post-award orientation webinar  Evaluation expectations  Template provided – Evaluation Plan Worksheet  Coaching Call  Indicators developed for outcomes as defined in proposal

Questions for consideration  Given the coaching call is conducted with a Foundation employee, what is the grantee voice if there is disagreement on suggested outcomes or indicators?  Does the power dynamic restrict the grantee from truly asking the questions that would most benefit their organization, particularly if those questions are not of interest to the Foundation?  Does the evaluation TA actually improve evaluation design? Grantee reporting?  To what extent are grantees building (and measuring) evaluation capacity through this “low-touch” evaluation coaching approach?  Given the coaching call is conducted with a Foundation employee, what is the grantee voice if there is disagreement on suggested outcomes or indicators?  Does the power dynamic restrict the grantee from truly asking the questions that would most benefit their organization, particularly if those questions are not of interest to the Foundation?  Does the evaluation TA actually improve evaluation design?
