Journal #1-- “The Coming of the Gods" All journal assignments are worth 25 points if 22 lines of information are presented. They are a Level I writing assignment which means the points are given for the presentation of the information, not for the mechanics of the writing. Prompt: Imagine that you lived in a time when kings and queens ruled the land. You have just been crowned absolute monarch of the island on which you live. Describe the type of community you would create and the rules you would have your citizenry follow. Be sure to include any consequences you would enforce for those individuals not following the laws you have enacted.

Journal #2-- "Creation of Man" Suppose you were given the chance to create a new animal-- and not just any animal, but an animal that would be a combination of any three animals that presently exist. Your assignment is to select three traits you admire from three different animals and put them together to create a new species. You need to name the creature and also give some information about the creature's habits-- where does it live, what does it eat, how does it use these abilities that you have given it? 25 points for 22 lines
