Cherkasy City Gymnasia № 31

Cherkasy School No.31 was founded in 1986 as a comprehensive secondary school. In 1997, the school obtained a license of comprehensive school of the I-III degrees No.31 with high school's classes, and since 2001, it has been Cherkasy gymnasia No.31

1125 pupils and their parents, 95 pedagogues undoubtedly call the high school No 31 one of the best in the city. The high school pupils not only study here, they also live a full-fledged spiritual life.

School is new and modern, it has three floors. The classrooms are light and spacious. There are classrooms for different subjects, such as English, History, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology Literature etc. There is a computer class in our school. We study computer science here. The computer class has the most modern equipment and the Internet access.

We’ve also an assembly hall, which is situated on the second floor. Meetings, conferences, concerts and all the celebrations take place here. We prepare different performances for all holidays. We sing songs, recite poetry, dance, and participate in theatre performances.

The high school's success depends on skills of qualified teachers to organize educationally- upbringing process. 81 teachers have higher category and 6 - the I category. 30 teachers have the pedagogic title «teacher-methodist», 24 teachers - «senior teacher». Ten teachers are awarded with Honourable title «Excellent person of education of Ukraine".

There are many opportunities to go in for sports in our school. Our school has a gym, a sports ground, a football field and other sports facilities. There are many different sports groups: table tennis, athletics, football, volleyball, wrestling, and rhythmic gymnastics. Many pupils of our school attend these sports groups.
