Introduction Hello, and welcome to The Super Circulatory System! In this slideshow you will learn many facts about The Super Circulatory System! We hope you enjoy this presentation!

The Heart By Lauren Groff

The Heart Your heart beats more than thirty million times in one year. Did you know that it is a hollow muscular organ? It is tilted slightly to the left and only weighs around ten ounces. You know this, but it is NOT an actual heart shape. Your heart muscles squeeze together and push blood around your body through tubes called blood vessels every times every minute!

Did you know that your heart is divided into two sides? Each side has an atrium and a blood from lungs ventricle. Blood enters the two atria and is pumped or squeezed into the ventricles. The right side of your heart fills with used blood from your body. The left side fills with blood from the lungs. Then it is pumped into two big blood vessels and out of the heart. Your heart beats 90 times in one minute.

What Do Cells Do? By: Sean O’ Connor

There are two different color cells which are the red and white cells. Red Blood cells carry oxygen from the lungs to all the cells of the body. White blood cells are like soldiers protecting the body.

We each have about twenty five trillion red blood cells, hundreds of times more blood cells than there are stars in the milky way galaxy. Every second our body's make about three million red blood cells, and in that same second about an equal number die. Each red blood cell lives no longer than four months.

On To The Next Slide!

What Color Veins Are In The Body?

What are veins? Veins are vessels that carry blood back to the to the heart. Your blood travels around your body like a fast flowing river. The blood flowing through your body as known as your bloodstream. It carries the supplies your body needs to grow and stay healthy. The purified blood goes back into your bloodstream to continue its journey around your body.

Your blood passes from capillaries' into the smallest branches of your body. Veins are similar to arteries, and two often lie next to each other. But veins are closer to the surface of the skin. Veins also have narrower, thinner walls than arteries with only a very thin layer of muscles. The blood in your veins has less oxygen in it then the blood in your arteries. This makes it dull purple- red. Normally, three fifths of your blood is in your veins.

What Are Arteries By: Kevin Moran

Your blood travels around your body through a number of tubes called blood vessels, also known as arteries. Arteries are the opposite from veins. They carry blood away from the heart. The largest artery in the human body is the Aorta. It has thick elastic walls to move blood along through your smaller arteries. And your smallest arteries are called capillaries. Your arteries split into smaller and smaller tubes to reach every part of the body.

What Keeps The System Healthy? The things that keep the circulatory system healthy are… *Vegetables *Fruits *Meat *Water * And other things healthy for the heart!

What Does The System Do For The Body? The Circulatory System does many things for the body. It helps circulate blood through the body.

What Are The Parts The parts that make this amazing system up is the veins, arteries, heart, cells, ventricles, and atria( Which help the heart,). These parts all work together to make up this system.

How Does The System Work? Every time the heart beats it pumps blood through the body. The blood travels through the veins and the arteries.

What Might Cause The System Not To Work? Some things that might affect the system is the... *Heart attacks *Lung cancer or any kind of cancer. *Blood Clogs. *Fats and not enough exercise.

What Would Happen Without The System? Without the system we would not have blood to circulate throughout the body. Without blood it would not reach the body parts for example the lungs. The lungs would not be able to work which means they can not oxygen to inflate and we would not be able to breathe.
