The Percussion Family Snare drum, triangle, tambourine, bongos These instruments belong in this family because you can hit, scrape, or shake

The Brass Family Trumpets, trombone, french horn, tuba The reason these instruments are in the brass family is because when you blow in them, you have to make a buzzing sound

The Woodwind Family Saxophone, clarinet, flute, oboe The reason these instruments should be in this family is because they are made out of wood and you just blow regularly into them

The String Family Violin, viola, bass, guitar, banjo The reason these instruments are in this family because you use strings to play them
