Skill Choose from hundreds of skills to learn. Put in at least an hour a week over three to six months. Upload your evidence.. Done!

Physical Choose a sport or physical activity to get into. Do it for at least an hour a week over three to six months. Upload some evidence… Done!

Expedition Attend Training after school in terms 5 & /2010. Successfully complete the navigation training day walk. Successfully complete a Practice Expedition in a team 0f 4-7. Successfully complete an Assessed Expedition in a team of 4-7. Expeditions involve 2 nights camping away from home and walking with a heavy pack! Get it signed off – Done!

One more thing… One section out of Skill or Physical has to be six months, not three. Then, once all your evidence is verified online – you pass! You will receive a metal lapel badge immediately followed by a formal certificate, presented by VIP’s at a ceremony.

Moving on… If you decide to go for Gold, you can do it in Year 12 through William Parker. Gold expeditions are harder and you have to spend more time on the sections. Our current Gold group has 15 members. Gold expeditions are more challenging and are based in high mountain areas of the UK & Ireland.

BRONZE LEVEL 2 days and 1 overnight Open and Familiar Country Nice Campsites Practice&Assessed

SILVER LEVEL 3 days and 2 nights in challenging lowland country. Training Day Walk & Practice and Assessed Expeditions Basic Campsites

GOLD LEVEL 4 days and 3 nights in wild, remote, mountain terrain. Wild Camping/Backpacking Training, Practice & Assessed Expeditions

Hand it all in to Mr Hanslip in Finance. You will be enrolled as soon as possible and then you’ll be set up on eDofE online. If you were 15 ages ago you can back date one section up to six months before you enrolled. If you aren’t 15 yet, take a form and bring it in when you turn 15 with your payment. Do nothing yet! If you started Bronze and haven’t finished it – get it finished FIRST!!

COST If you sign up and drop out there are no refunds! All funds will be used. Enrolment: £25 Practice Expedition 2010: £25 Assessed Expedition 2010: £35 DofE can’t be funded by the school, so you have to pay. If money is a barrier, please speak to Mr Flanagan personally. We can help!
