Guy Fawkes’ Night also known as Bonfire Night Guy Fawkes’ Night is also known as Bonfire Night. It’ s celebrated on 5 november since 1605. It was started in the United Kingdom. Festivities in Windsor Castle during Guy Fawkes’ Night.

Important and legendary figure – Guy Fawkes Guy Fawkes was born on April 13, 1570 and died on January 31, 1606. He is also known as Guido Fawkes. Guy Fawkes was born and educated in York. His father died when Guy was eight years old, after which his mother married a recusant Catholic. Guy Fawkes

Why Guido Fawkes ? Guido Fawkes was the name he adopted while fighting for the Spanish in the Low Countries. He belonged to a group of provincial English Catholics. They planned to stop the  Gunpowder Plot of 1605.

Events during Guy Fawkes’ Night On the night of 4 / 5 November, Fawkes was found with 36 barrels of gunpowder in the cellars of Parliament. Subsequent investigation revealed (lasting two years), a conspiracy of a small group of English Catholics. The plan was to detonate the load at the House of Lords at the opening of Parliament and kill the same nobility, bishops and members of the House of Commons.

Events during Guy Fawkes’ Night continued The author of the plan was not in fact Fawkes, in the conspiracy took part Thomas Percy and Robert Catesby.  After 2 months of the process, assassins – a total of eight, were sentenced to death by hanging and quartered. A contemporary engraving of eight of the thirteen conspirators, by Crispijn van de Passe. Fawkes is third from the right.
