The GAFI One-Stop-Shop  Why One-Stop-Shops are needed.  What they mean.  What makes them successful.  The GAFI experience.  What next?

What is the need?  Complex, multiple procedures.  Bring all agencies under one roof.  Simplify procedures.  Transparency of rules.  Therefore: reduce time, cost and effort.

What the Concept means  Risk of exaggeration.  Control / Various levels of delegation.  Flexible and dynamic approach.

What Makes Them Successful  Credibility (% of success).  Transparency.  Capacity to develop.  Control over process.

Key Success Factors  Authority over representatives of other agencies.  Separation between back and front offices.  Principal or Agent?  Feed back from customers/ users.

The GAFI Experience (1)  The Procedure Simplification Program.  Physical Layout: front/back offices.  Separation of functions.  Central leadership.

The GAFI Experience (2) Company Establishment  Required Documents: contract/ power of attorney/ IDs/ capital certificate.  Back Office: CMA/ Syndicate of Lawyers/ Chamber of Commerce/ Company Name.  Front Office: Single payment in bank/ notarization.  Time: reduction from 34 to 3 days.  Other gains.
