October 21, 1999 GA-COMO Paw Print Basics n Each student who wants to print in the labs or in the library must have a login ID. n Student campus account also serves as their Paw Print account. n Paw Print account allots 150 free prints per semester; once this limit is exceeded the cost is 5 cents per page

October 21, 1999 GA-COMO Paw Print Basics (cont) n What about non-GSU patrons? –Must generate a temporary ID in order to print –Can add value to ID in increments of 20 or 100 prints –ID is valid for 48 hours –ID is restricted for use only on certain workstations

October 21, 1999 GA-COMO Paw Print Basics (cont) n What about poor quality prints, etc.? –No cash refunds can be given –If a print is illegible or not usable for some other reason, we can credit the user’s account

October 21, 1999 GA-COMO Types of logins for the system n Students –Pawprint account; typically something like gs12rab –If they don’t need to print we can sign them on with libtemp2.lib n Faculty –Faculty.lib allows free printing

October 21, 1999 GA-COMO What equipment was required? n PCOUNTER Station –Serves as a printing counter and queue monitor. –Minimum: with 8MB RAM. Recommended: Low-end Pentium 80 MB hard drive –Network Adapter and Port –Approximate Cost: $400-$1000
