Language The official language is Armenian. Many people speak Russian due its relation to the former Soviet Union. Languages are taught at the universities and public schools. The languages are Spanish, Italian, German, French, and especially English. The Armenian Alphabet
Economy The Armenian currency is the Dram. The unemployment rate was 20% in Import commodities are natural gas, petroleum, tobacco products, foodstuffs, and diamonds. Export commodities are diamonds, mineral products, foodstuffs, and energy. Armenian Dram
Government The form of government is republic. A constitution was adopted by a national referendum in July Parliamentary elections were held in July 1995 and May Presidential elections were held in March 1998.
About The Flag The flag is three horizontal bands of red at the top, blue at the center, and orange at the bottom. The red stands for the blood shed for liberty. The blue stands for the Armenian sky, as well as for hope. The orange stands for the land and the courage of the workers who farm it. The Armenia n Flag
