Request for Approval of Alternative Waste Management Practices (OG-071) For Oil & Gas Operations in Pennsylvania

When do you need to submit an OG- 071 to the DEP? Anytime there is treatment of waste streams on a well site. – For example Treating Frac Flow back for reuse Pre-treating Frac Flow back for recycling before transportation to final treatment. Solidification of drill cuttings

When does a Alternate practice become a Standard practice? An alternate method is one that is not prescribed by the law or regulations. Therefore, until an alternate method is approved in the regulations, it will always be considered an alternate method.

The Many Benefits of Reuse of Frac Fluids Reducing/eliminating disposal costs of frac water Reducing/eliminating hauling costs of frac water Reducing the need for finding large quantities of fresh water

The Many Benefits of Reuse of Frac Fluids Reducing truck traffic in the drilling area Having a process that is portable to move from one drill site to the next Minimizing the environmental impact of drilling for natural gas
