6 th Beatitude

6 th Beatitude- “Happy are the clean of heart, for they will see God”. 1. Clean of heart ( pure of heart), are people who love God simply because God is good. 2. The reward for being clean of heart is they will see God. a. They will see God in others and remember God is always with them. b. They will see God in heaven.

3. Jesus was clean of heart because his heart was filled with love, he saw God in everything, he gave glory to God. 4. When we are clean of heart, we will see God in ourselves, others and all around us. 5. When we become clean of heart, there is no room for selfishness. a. Pure of heart allows goodness and holiness shine through us.

St. Aloysius (clean of heart)  Came from a rich family.  He went to soldiers camp where he learned bad words.  He used these words even though he didn’t know what they meant.  Our words and actions affect God. Aloysius realized these words offended God and he tried to change.

 He was careful not to use words that offended God or hurt others.  Aloysius knelt before a statue of Mary and was filled with a great desire to be pure and holy.  He showed he was pure of heart by leaving home to become a priest.  He showed love for others by caring for the sick.
