Proposed Changes Requirements for Science All students must complete 3 units 1 full unit of biology/AP required (EOCT) 1 unit of a physical science required (EOCT) (chemistry/AP, physics/AP, or physical science) 1 unit of an earth science required (Earth Systems or Environmental Science) or an AP course can be substituted

High School Teacher Training Team of 4 teachers from every Georgia high school 1 algebra, 1geometry, 1 statistics, 1 special education teacher Time 3 days/8 hours per day 2 follow-up days during the ’07-’08 school year PLUs recommended Delivered in each of the 13 RESA sites at local high schools/ 2 additional metro sites Delivered over 2-week period (May 29-31, June 5-7) Trainers: DOE staff and others selected by DOE

High School Teacher Training Content training based on Math 1 Framework Designed and delivered using components of research-based best practice for PD content-based modeled using research-based best practice related to student learning utilizing classroom materials and resources, including appropriate technology directly related to classroom practice and delivery on-going and job-embedded
