Summarize Why is summarizing a good strategy and how do we use it? Let’s look on pages 22 & 23. I say this to summarize: Young wild animals learn about food and fighting. They copy adults. The birds and bear cubs learn to get food by watching adult animals. But lion cubs play fight. I can make an inference that the lion cubs saw adults fight.

Use Text Evidence Pages Question Text Evidence 16-17 18-19 22 How do living things grow and change? The author states, “Some young animals always look like their parents. Some young animals’ bodies change a lot.” A giraffe grows bigger. A frog’s body changes a lot as it grows. 18-19 Some animals grow quickly and some grow slowly. 22

Word Study: Review Suffixes Adding –er and –est to adjectives and adverbs Example: A bigger elephant runs faster than a small one. The biggest elephant runs fastest of all. How many elephants are there in the second sentence? small smaller smallest wet wide silly

Spelling These are in weeks. These belong to us. These can make music. These are not adults. These are wild animals. These grow on trees. These hold things. These need lips to make them. Sometimes we give or get these. This is in the past.
