Title IA and Transitions Title IA schools: –required to provide transition for pre school students entering public school
Transition Schoolwide and Targeted Assistance programs must: assist children from –Head Start, –Even Start, –Early Reading First, or –a State-run preschool program
Transition Eligible Students –within 2 years of elementary school attended: Head Start, Even Start, or Early Reading First program, or Title IA preschool
Increase Coordination Implement procedure for records transfer Establish communication between school and early childhood staff
Increase Coordination Parent meetings –With kindergarten teachers – Head Start teachers – other early childhood staff To discuss the needs of individual children
