Pope Fellows Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving

Aryn Christina Beall Major: Nursing Hometown: Midland, Georgia “The Pope Fellowship gives me an excellent opportunity to be around people that have similar goals to mine. All of the people in this group are perusing a career in caregiving and it is inspiring to see the older members accomplishing what I will accomplish in a few years. It means so much to me to be surrounded by a group of people that encourage me to do well in everything. Being a part of this fellowship gives me an opportunity that I would not have had otherwise.”

Whitley Brooke Benton Major: Nursing Hometown: Americus, Georgia "Words cannot express how excited I am to be a part of the Pope Fellows program. This program will enable me to fulfill my life long dream of caring for others. As a nurse and caregiver, I know that everyday I will be able to touch a life in a positive way or that a life will touch mine."

Jonathon Cannon Major: Nursing Hometown: Statham, Georgia “I am proud to be a Betty Pope fellow for the academic year. The Caregiving Program will add value to my degree in nursing. ”

"Caregiving is so much more than just taking care of someone; it is nourishment of their emotions. I am honored to be a Pope Fellow and hope to one day exceed caregiving standards." Shelby Carson Major: Exercise Science Hometown: Americus, GA

Lillian Dent Major: Nursing Hometown: Fitzgerald, GA "This scholarship is an opportunity for me to learn what it means to be a caregiver and to make an impact not only in our community, but in the hearts and lives of others."

“I am immensely excited to see what opportunities of being part of this fellowship will bring me. This opportunity will open so many doors to my future and help me succeed in the care-giving field more than I could have ever imagined. Thank you again for giving me this opportunity. ” Savannah Fonda Major: Physical Therapy (Pre-Med) Hometown: Snellville, GA

Gilbretta Green Major: Nursing Hometown: Preston, Georgia "Being a caregiver is no easy task. You must be hard working, dedicated, and most of all you must be passionate. As a Pope Fellow, I will begin each day with the goal of making the lives of others better in any way possible."

“Caregiving not only fulfills the needs of another human being but also oneself; as we empty ourselves into others, we are truly full. I feel so blessed and honored to be part of the Pope Fellowship. Here, I will be surrounded by like minded individuals who will also strive for success in caregiving. I feel that we will be the caregivers of tomorrow that will make a difference in the world” Gabrielle Griffin Major: Nursing Hometown: Ogdensburg, New York

Anneliese Leahy Major: Nursing Hometown: Evans, Georgia “There is an increasing demand for caregivers today as people continue to live longer lives. With this incredible opportunity as a Pope Fellow I believe that I will be better trained for the profession I am entering and also I will be better equipped for the potential positions I will need to fill as a caregiver.”

Rachel Medlin Major: Exercise Science Hometown: Cordele, Georgia "Caregiving is the devotion to the improvement of the lives of those who cannot care for themselves. During my time as a Pope Fellow, I aspire to learn how to positively impact the lives of such people through the field of healthcare."

Elizabeth Moody Major: Nursing Hometown: Georgetown, Georgia “Caring for others is something that has always been dear to me. The Pope Fellowship Program is giving me an exciting opportunity to enhance my nursing education. Being a Pope Fellow is an honor, and I am grateful to have been accepted into this organization.”

Jasmin Taylor Major: Early Childhood Education Hometown: Oglethorpe, Georgia "Caregiving is something I want to devote my life to; something that will make me feel accomplished by making other people happy."

Melissa Waters Major: Early Childhood Education Hometown: Ellaville, Georgia “I believe caregiving literally means to give care to others. Someone who dedicates their time to the well-being of others in need. I hope this program allows me to become a caregiver as well as instruct others to be caregivers. I also hope it allows me to help caregivers in the community in any way that I can. They are essential to our lives and deserve the utmost respect.”

Thank you, Mrs. Betty Pope, for your dedication and commitment to the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving.
