FCSC staff believe there is a current and urgent need for more success with all students. The CHS Freshmen Center is an important strategy for improving student belonging, academic success and class graduation rate.

Freshman Testing NWEA Star Reading/ Star Math Acuity ISTEP+ End of Course Assessments: Algebra 1 and Biology

Project Lead the Way A program for grades 9-12 offered as a four year sequence of courses which, when combined with traditional mathematics and science courses in high school, introduces students to the scope, rigor and discipline of engineering prior to entering college.

Other Freshman Center courses Project Lead the Way (PLTW) can help to forge new generations of engineers. CHS’s PLTW program is nationally certified and offers Intro. to Engineering Design and Principles of Engineering

Other exciting programs: CHS Finance Academy A three-year program open to all students grades 10-12, offering students the scope, rigor and discipline of finance, marketing and entrepreneurship prior to entering college for up to 15 hrs. of college credit. Freshman students are encouraged to take who take Advanced Computer Applications and/or Business Foundations as prerequisites.

CHS Finance Academy Offers specialized sequence of business courses for its program: Adv. Computer Applications Accounting 1 &Automated Accounting Business and Personal Law Entrepreneurship Professional Career Internship

Education beyond high school is more critical today than ever before. A high school diploma and at least some college credit are absolutely essential for full participation in today’s economy.

A four-year college graduate earns 70 percent more than a high school graduate does. CHS wants to provide options for the future of Connersville’s young adults with its Early College High School program.

Our students earn credits toward an Associate’s degree or college credit toward the baccalaureate while in high school; Mastery and competence are rewarded with enrollment in college-level courses and the years to a postsecondary degree are compressed;
