Next week grade updates will be given out.

Essential Vocabulary Terms for this Unit Plan:  Solar System: moon, moon phase, planet, solar system, axis, orbit, AU, eclipse  Stars & Galaxies: constellation, absolute magnitude, apparent magnitude, light-year, spectra, nebula giant, dwarf, supergiant, neutron star, black hole, universe, and Big Bang Theory

 Can be seen from Earth is not in its new phase  Natural satellite for Earth because it orbits our planet  384,403 km away from Earth with a diameter of 3,476 km  1 full orbit = 29.5 days  Phases are different because it changes the amount of light reflected off the moon

 New Moon (completely dark, no light)  Crescent Moon (Lit towards the right)  Half Moon (light divided evenly)  Gibbous Moon (nearly in full reflection)  Full Moon (full reflection of light)

 Finish Gizmo exploration questions. Posted online. (Due Friday)  Study vocabulary from today’s lesson. Quiz Thursday (take home for B-day) and Friday (A- day Quiz)  Midterm exams next week. Study!
