Flashback After Santiago was robbed, he realized what his mistake was in dealing with the thief. What is the mistake? What happens when Santiago asks the stones if he will find his treasure? What does this mean? Does Santiago decide to think of himself as the victim, after the thief, or as an adventurer? How has the Crystal Merchant been tricked into believing the “world’s greatest lie”? The Crystal Merchant tells the boy, that even if he worked for an entire year, he would not have enough to go on his journey. What does Santiago say?

Write an Essay Think about a time in your life when you were “lucky”. What happened? Write an explanation, in detail, in which you will present to the class. You will have 20 minutes to complete. This should be a 3.5 personal narrative essay. Meaning that you must have an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Do not forget transition words.

Independent Reading and questions Finish reading to the star on page 65 and answer the questions on your own paper. You will have 10 minutes. Stay on task!!!! In order to study for the test, you will be responsible for keeping up with all your work with The Alchemist unit.
