Facts  The Suir is the biggest river in Tipperary.  The only Garda college in Ireland is in Tipperary.  The GAA was founded in Hayes hotel in Thurles in  Tipperary is known as the Premier county.  Tipperary won the first all Ireland final in 1887 they bet Galway on a scoreline of 1-01 to  Tipperary is the sixth biggest county in Ireland.  The population of Tipperary was 158,652 in 2011  Tipperary has the eleventh highest population in Ireland  There are 979 native Irish speakers in Tipperary.
