Project Goals & Objectives Know where to find disaster and public health preparedness and response websites and apps with reliable and authoritative content. – DIMRC, WISER, CHEMM, REMM, VISUALDX Understand the value of portable equipment choices, and the key differences between web-based access and tools that provide stand alone content. Increase the functional literacy of health care professionals responsible for all-hazards scenarios and corresponding disaster literature, and achieve self reliance in selecting and searching disaster related literature.

CME Objectives Reflect the NLM Project Goals At the conclusion of this lecture the participants should be able to: Identify authoritative sources for information in a disaster or public health emergency by using the National Library of Medicine’s Disaster Information Management Research Center (DIMRC) focusing on: WISER Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders CHEMM Chemical Hazards Emergency Medical Management REMM Radiation Emergency Medical Management Explain the value of portable equipment choices, and the key differences between internet access, and tools that provide stand- alone content. Describe the types of questions these databases can answer and provide examples. Review the Elkhart County environment and potential disaster sources.
