Why Are We Expanding Learning Time at Collins? We are expanding learning time at the Collins Middle School because: We need to accelerate our students’ academic progress. We need to provide more opportunities for intervention and acceleration. We need to give teachers more instructional time as well as provide teachers with more focused opportunities to plan and collaborate. We believe students will benefit greatly by increasing opportunities to learn outside core subjects in engaging enrichment classes which also allow more time for their social- emotional growth.
