SB 1309-Legislation Intent Expanding capacity of health career programs at the Secondary level Increasing Nursing education enrollment in community colleges and the California State University Recruiting and retaining faculty Streamlining Clinical placement Enhancing financial aid for nursing students

SB 1309-Legislation Intent Providing addition resources to community colleges to reduce attrition Creating a statewide health care workforce database to monitor pipeline supply and demand data for the health care workforce.

SB 1309-Legislation Intent Address California Nursing Shortage – Health Science Medial Technology Project Grants to K-12 under the Dept. of Education Establish/Enhance new or existing career pathway programs – Establish Cal Grant N Under Student Aid Commission Supplemental Loans for nursing students

SB 1309-Legislation Intent Amend Student Nursing Assumption of Loans Program (SNAPL Program) – Amend to provide retroactive loan assumption for undergraduates pursuing nursing faculty status to include part-time teaching

Legislation Intent California Community Colleges Nursing Faculty Recruitment and Retention Program – Alter the ability of community colleges to employ long-term temporary faculty from 2 semesters over 3 years to 4 semesters over 3 years – Includes faculty salary augmentation for new faculty Sunsets June 30, 2014
