NWEA An computerized assessment that all students (grades 4-11) take 2 to 3 times a year Data from NWEA is used directly in teaching focus for Math and Lang. Arts/Reading instruction – differentiated instruction Math NWEA (120 leveled questions in each category) –Mathematical Processes –Patterns and Algebra –Geometry –Data Analysis –Numbers and Numerical Operations

Imprint and Impact Impact – complete set of questions for each of the 5 Math topics, each set contains 120 questions. Over 600 leveled questions, that can be used across the district Imprint – value of dialogue, value of vertical articulation, using NWEA scores in practical application in our teaching, roadblocks and finding a way around

Future Mini-lesson for each 20 question set Implementation of questions and mini-lessons by PLC leadership team (Fall 2011) Deliberate decisions about which types of students will be using these cards. –Elementary (4-6) all will use, (implement first with 5 th grade in October, then move to 4 th, then 6 th ) –Middle School (7-8) (implement first with special education & Academic Support Instruction) –High School implement with our at risk students in ASI classes as well as SRA – HSPA classes. Staff development so that we can share the mini- lessons/NWEA questions with the full staff grades 4-12
